The Best Footwear for Footballers

Bahe barefoot grounding shoes

The Best Shoe for Footballers

Modern shoes sabotage foot function for 4 reasons:

  • Narrow toe box
  • Arch support
  • Heel raise
  • Non-conductive sole

The Best Football Boots

Leather boots are the best because they naturally mold to the shape of your foot. With that said, you’ll play your best in whatever shoes you feel most comfortable in.

  • Nike Tiempo IX and earlier
  • Nike Premier

The Best Recovery Tools for Footballers

Screen light filtering apps on devices

Filtering Your Screens

An amazing and quick way to improve your health and mental wellbeing is to filter out harmful blue and green light from the screens of your devices.

This light goes into the eye and causes mitochondrial dysfunction as well as brain fog.

GembaRed red light therapy panel

Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy is a rabbit hole that’s extremely easy to find yourself lost in.

99% of panels on the market are not worth the time or money and are sometimes dangerous. This is because most panels are marketed using the “more is better” mentality and not science.

You need to understand flicker rate, third party nnEMF testing, and most importantly what wavelengths and at what intensities the panel is providing.

So far I’ve only seen one company to be worth investing in:

Blue light blocking glasses

Blue Light Blocking Glasses

Did you know artificial blue light into the eye can directly lower testosterone, cause fat gain, spike cortisol, and worse tendon performance? Protect your eyes with true blue light blocking glasses.

Evening glasses need to block up to 550nm to block the blue and green light that harms your sleep.

I don’t recommend day time glasses unless you are stuck staring at a computer screen you are unable to manipulate the blue light and flicker.

Epsom salt footbath tub

Footbath

One of the best things you can do to increase healing and tissue adaptation is a warm epsom salt footbath. It would be nice to get one that is made out of wood or ceramic but those are expensive and somewhat hard to find.

Tip At least 20 minutes with 1 cup of epsom salt in water as hot as you can handle.

Heating and cooling water bag

Heating / Cooling Bag

Whenever it comes to strained muscles, sprained ankles, or any other kind of injury, heat is the first tool to increase blood flow and speed healing.

This bag is extremely helpful to do direct heat placement via hot water inside the bag.

It can also be used for cold if it’s a hot summer’s night and you want to decrease body temperature to sleep better.

Epsom salt and magnesium flakes

Epsom Salt

As mentioned above, epsom salt is really great to absorb topically through the skin to help with muscle soreness, fascial fatigue, and tissue adaptation.

Both magnesium chloride and magnesium sulfate are recommended.

Biohacking Your Sleep

If you look online you will find a lot of very expensive technology you can buy to track and supposedly improve your sleep. I’ve tried it all.

Anything that outsources your own awareness is a trap. Modern technology doesn’t improve sleep, it destroys it.

You should work towards making your bedroom as low-tech as possible and unplugging all devices. Keeping it cool and dark helps a lot.

The real solution is to bring nature into the home to improve the air quality and electromagnetic frequency.

  • Indoor plants (buy local)
Red ambient evening light

Ambient Evening Light

One of the most important concepts for recovery is your light environment — the ambient light you are exposed to in your home (ceiling lights, lamps, etc.).

After sunset, you want zero exposure to artificial blue and green light that damages your melatonin, the most important hormone for quality sleep.

That’s why you need some form of non-flicker low EMF red light or candles to provide ambient lighting at night.

3M Micropore mouth tape

Mouth Tape

Mouth tape is not a fix for poor tongue posture but it is something to help the process along if you are doing the proper tongue functionality work.

The Best Training Equipment for Footballers

2 lb plyometric training ball

Plyo Ball (2 lb or 1 kg)

Very useful for providing muscles an external reference point to expand and contract against.

Used often by Entangled Footballers.

Breath belt for diaphragmatic training

Breath Belt

Most athletes underestimate the importance of their breath.

Using external reference points like the breath belt helps you gain awareness of how shallow and weak your inhale is — strengthening your breathing power.

The Best Clothing for Footballers

Organic Clothing

Polyester, nylon, and other petrochemical based fibers are extremely toxic when in contact with the skin, especially when sweating and your pores are open.

We recommend prioritizing 100% organic natural fibers such as cotton, wool, cashmere, linen, and silk. Try your best to avoid blends.

The Best Headphones for Footballers

Airtube headphones with radiation-safe design

AirPods Radiate Your Brain

It’s more important than ever to avoid exposing yourself to unnecessary radiation, especially near your brain.

Wireless technology like bluetooth has been studied for decades and has displayed negative effects on the human body via voltage gated calcium channels.

Avoid AirPods and wear airtube headphones.

The Best Juicers for Footballers

Cold-press juicer for celery and vegetable juice
